I couldn’t help but be reminded of Alli and Nick’s eventful proposal story as the rain fell outside Myrick Park on the day of their wedding. If you haven’t read their engagement session blog post, you won’t want to miss their sweet story. While no couple hopes for rain on their wedding day, Alli and Nick were determined not to let the weather undermine their plans to have a beautiful and meaningful wedding! We were so thankful that they were willing to embrace the rain for a few portraits and we ended the day with the most unexpected sunset!

Alli and Nick share a love that is steadfast, sweet, and playful. Their family and friends showered them in support, encouragement, and happiness all day long. Despite the unfortunate weather, the day had a calmness and a peacefulness to it, and you could tell Alli and Nick were simply ready to finally be husband and wife.

Though many of their family members were present in person to celebrate with Alli and Nick, a few very important people were present in spirit. Alli’s father, Dave, passed away two and a half years ago. Alli and Dave were “two peas in a pod,” her mother Mary said. Mary shared how alike Alli and her dad were, and how they were constantly getting themselves into trouble with their playful relationship. Thankfully, Dave had the chance to meet Nick and get to know him. Alli and Nick intentionally honored her father and other loved ones who had passed throughout the day, and family members supported each other through these bittersweet moments. It is evident that the love Alli and Nick share has a foundation that will last them through the hills and valleys of life.

It was beautiful to witness Alli and Nick as a couple throughout the day, and to see how they embraced the happy, excited, and fun moments as much as they did the difficult and challenging ones. These two have built a life together that allows them to be fully themselves in each other’s presence.
