Tanner and Catherine’s iconic fall session in the bluffs of La Crosse was perfectly romantic and playful! When Catherine first reached out to us, she emphasized the couple’s love of Taylor Swift and how she wanted to subtly hint to their favorite lyrics through their engagement session images. Instantly I was hooked and so excited to get to know this couple more! Tanner and Catherine met 7 years ago and connected over their love for sports and being outdoors. They both play sports like volleyball and rugby for fun in their spare time, and love spending time with each other’s teams, singing karaoke or going on trips to away games. 

On a trip out of town for one of Catherine’s team’s games, the crew was all staying in an Airbnb. Tanner decorated the gazebo and Catherine’s best friend convinced everyone to go outside and play catch. Tanner led Catherine to the gazebo and proposed – they were able to have their intimate moment and then be surrounded by their friends to celebrate! 

As I mentioned, Catherine and Tanner are big Taylor Swift fans (aren’t we all??) and they wanted to incorporate their love for her songs in their engagement session. I loved finding ways to highlight their favorite lyrics- “just take my hand and don’t ever drop it,” “one single thread of gold tied me to you,” and “I don’t want to look at anything else now that I saw you.” I absolutely loved Catherine’s smile that took over her whole face whenever Tanner was cuddled up close to her during the session.
