Ever since Sarah and Luke’s downtown La Crosse engagement session, Cody and I have been eagerly awaiting their wedding day. Sarah and Luke are two of the kindest and most caring people we have ever met. They both have a quiet yet playful personalities, and it is evident that they have found their perfect match in each other. Their wedding day turned out to be the hottest temperature we have ever shot a wedding in! Despite the incredible heat, Sarah and Luke were positive and excited the entire day.

Cody and I were greeted by one of Sarah’s bridesmaids when we arrived at Corpus Christi Church. We were welcomed into the girls getting ready space, where everyone was calm and eager for the day to really start! It is such a blessing when our couples can experience a wedding morning that is full of joy and excitement, rather than stress about the little details. Sarah and Luke knew that everything was planned and prepared, so they could relax and fully enjoy their wedding day!

As I stayed in the air conditioning capturing detail photos and getting ready portraits, Cody took the guys outside for some group photographs. The bridesmaids peeked out the windows of their space and gushed about how good they all looked! Meanwhile, sweet Sarah looked in the opposite direction so that her first sight of Luke could be her walking down the aisle! When the time finally came for that moment, it was such a precious one!

Luke held back a few tears as Sarah walked towards him, but he was mostly smiling! I absolutely love the images of them coming back down the aisle as husband and wife- I mean look at their joy!! After the ceremony, we traveled to Memories on Maple, a beautiful barn venue tucked in a valley of green fields. Sarah and Luke celebrated their wedding day with the absolute best types of family and friends! I didn’t hear any complaints from the groomsmen in full suits in 100+ degree weather! Everyone was simply ready to have a great time!

I love the way that Sarah and Luke look at each other. I swear their eyes light up with admiration and joy each time they see each other. The day that they had been planning for so long was finally here, and their excitement shines through each image. And underneath that excitement is a strong feeling of home. They have made a home with each other, one where each one feels comfortable and loved being themselves. You can see it in the way they hold each other tight, in the moment when they looked at each other during speeches, and in the little laughs shared during their first dance.
