Elizabeth and Nick became husband and wife at Chorus Public House, near Madison, WI. Their day was so full of joy and love, it is hard to describe it adequately! Cody and I have known Elizabeth and Nick were special since their Wisconsin State Capitol Engagement session this January. We left that session absolutely frozen to the bone, yet our hearts were so full of joy! Elizabeth and Nick seem to escape to a different world when they are in each other’s presence. They are fully known and loved in each other’s arms. It is evident, and I hope the photographs we capture are able to display that love that is between them.
What Cody and I didn’t fully understand was how special Elizabeth and Nick’s family and friends are. We were welcomed into their family homes at the start of the wedding day, and introduced to the family and friends who were helping to make Elizabeth and Nick’s wedding day a beautiful one. The buzz of excitement was in the air, but even greater there was an attitude of love and deep affection.
As Cody prepared Nick for his first look with Elizabeth, Nick repeated “I’m just so excited!” I was walking slowly with Elizabeth to the spot we had chosen for their first look, a shaded spot nestled under a beautifully tall tree at Olin Park in Madison, Wisconsin. She shared with me how glad they were that they had chosen a first look, because all she wanted to do was be with him! The moment Nick turned to see his bride, Elizabeth’s face burst into the widest smile! Nick’s was quickly moved to tears to see Elizabeth in front of him, finally his bride.
Elizabeth and Nick read each other letters privately under the shade of the grand tree. Cody and I watched from afar and witnessed the sweetest laughter, moments when voices quieted with tears, and the tightest hugs between the two. When it was time for Elizabeth to walk down the aisle to Nick at Chorus Public House, Nick still welled up with tears watching her. I shared this moment on our social media, but it was so precious I had to share it again here! When the officiant was saying one final prayer over Elizabeth and Nick before he pronounced them as husband and wife, I couldn’t help but notice the smiles that continued to grow on Elizabeth and Nick’s faces. He prayed over their new Hildebrandt Family, and both Elizabeth and Nick raised their eyebrows and giggled at each other with excitement, knowing they were now just that: a family. The two of them becoming one unit, united in marriage. At one point when the officiant said the Hildebrandts, Nick smiled and opened his eyes to sneak a peek at Elizabeth. The moment he closed his eyes, Elizabeth opened hers and beamed up at Nick.
I can’t think of a more perfect moment that describes the kind of couple that Elizabeth and Nick are! Enjoy our favorite images from their beautiful wedding day!
Elizabeth and Nick, we know that God has the sweetest plans for your marriage.
Continue to choose each other, choosing to be on the same team. Cody and I cannot wait to see how your love grows!
