This Appleton Engagement Session will go down in Andrea & Cody history!! Never before have we encountered so many different weather extremes in one day- not to mention in the span of a few hours! Hannah & Caleb chose to have their session at the gorgeous Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton. As Cody and I were driving to Appleton, we noticed how overcast it was and we monitored the weather throughout our drive. We were hoping we wouldn’t deal with any rain, but we never would have imagined what did end up taking place!
Before I explain just how wild the weather was during this session- let me tell you a little about Hannah and Caleb. Hannah was a bridesmaid in Sara & Evan’s Oshkosh wedding, so she had seen us in action! Sara & Evan are some of the sweetest people, so we knew that anyone they had chosen to be a part of their day must be pretty special. We were not mistaken! Hannah and Caleb are simply kind, fun, and energetic. When they speak to you, you can tell they really care about your response. And when they look at each other? I can’t even type about it without smiling! Despite the extreme weather of this session, Hannah & Caleb had huge grins and crinkly noses throughout it all! They truly made the most of it and had fun together! It made me so excited to photograph their wedding this coming April at the Gibson Social Club.
After I texted Hannah some sneak peeks from their session, I told her I wanted to title it “Four Seasons in a Day.” It is truly what we experienced with the weather during their session! When we arrived at Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton, the weather was overcast and chilly. About 15 minutes into the session, the sun popped out and it was blue skies and super bright! Only a short while later, it became dark and cloudy again. As we moved to another location at the preserve, light snow started falling, which was truly gorgeous! Then, out of nowhere, huge gusts of wind were blowing millions of snowflakes in all directions. I promise the pictures hardly do it justice! We frantically ran to our cars and I told Hannah we’d see what it was like in 10 minutes. A few minutes of wind and snow passed, and then all of a sudden the storm was gone and the sky began to clear. The session ended with the dreamiest sunset light, which felt like a miracle! Hannah & Caleb rolled with the punches and we had so much fun capturing such a unique session with them.
Enjoy our favorites from Hannah & Caleb’s wild weather Bubolz Nature Preserve Appleton Engagement Session!
Hannah & Caleb, Cody and I are so honored you have chosen us to capture your engagement and wedding! We had such a great time with you both during your session.
We can’t wait to see how you both continue to grow and learn before your wedding day. The countdown to April has started! xoxo, Andrea & Cody
